Name: Camera Color Calibration and First Friday Party
Date: May 4, 2018
Time: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM EDT
Event Description:

Camera Color Calibration Party

We, or at least I, will go to First Friday afterwards

Do you care about your images rendering colors correctly? Cameras coming right out of the store are inherently off in their color calibration. If you care about correct colors, do product photography, or have multiple shooters photographing events (especially if you’re using different camera brands), this will be a must-attend event. We will have everything there to create a custom Dual Luminance DNG color profile that you can load into Lightroom or Photoshop’s ARC.

Bring your camera(s) and a thumb drive (one that will work on a PC). If you shoot with other photographers, make sure they attend or that you bring their cameras too. If your camera can use an SD card, that would be preferable but we can work with CF cards as well. You’ll photograph color swatches in two different color balanced lights. We will upload those images into the computer and create a custom Dual Luminance DNG color profile that will be put onto your thumb drive. When you get home you’ll upload it into Lightroom or Photoshop ARC. I’ll e-mail directions on how and where to do this.

Hopefully this will work for your camera but each time we do this, it doesn’t work for a camera or two (typically newly released models). I’m not sure why and hopefully it won’t happen to you. I have no idea how many people will be coming so bring your patience hat. Feel free to bring an hors d’oeuvre (that doesn’t require utensils) to share or whatever you’d like to drink. I will be providing some plates and cups for anything that people bring.
