“When was the last time your accountant came to you with a tax saving idea?” asked Madison Randolph, CPA. “Usually the answer is “never”. We offer tax planning strategies to help reduce taxes. For business owners, we utilize the Tax Code to their advantage– the codes are 70,000 pages long – so there’s a lot of stuff in there that people don’t even know about.”
“The major thing people need to know is that the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017 made big changes to some federal tax laws, tax brackets and deductions,” said Randolph. “The standard deduction has eliminated almost 85% of tax payers that itemized in the past, but there are strategies we can use.”

According to Randolph, there is still time to fund your retirement account or health savings account to reduce your tax burden. It is also important to know that the child tax credit has doubled.
“We provide the expertise, accuracy, completeness, and peace of mind that their accounting is done right and on time,” said Randolph. “We will take all the deductions available to them by law and will look to see if there’s anything that they haven’t even thought of or might have missed.”
When it comes to tax strategies, Randolph doesn’t want to overburden his clients with information. “I will pick one, two or three of the best strategies – we give them a micro tax plan, highlighting the number one thing they should be doing, with a checklist to keep them on track,” he said.
