Knoxville, Tenn. (November 3, 2019)- - With continued growth and success within all of the markets it serves, MBI Companies, Inc. announces the expansion of leadership roles by naming Bill Steverson as President and Louis Cortina as Chief Financial Officer.
Both Steverson and Cortina have been with the firm for more than two decades and bring extensive knowledge of the firm’s daily operations to their new roles.
Bill Steverson formerly served as the Vice President of Architecture and Chairman of MBI’s Board of Directors. A licensed architect in Tennessee, he has more than 30 years of design experience. Most notably, was the $30+ million-dollar Lenoir City Utilities Board Central Administration Headquarters and Operations Center. Steverson was the principal in charge for a 74,435 SF office and 114,509 SF warehouse that consolidated all of LCUB’s utility company operations.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois. Steverson and his wife Holly, are parents of three grown children and reside in Maryville.
“I’m honored to work with such a talented team of professionals whom I’ve admired since I began my job with the firm more than 26 years ago,” said Steverson. “As a multi-disciplined team of architecture, interior design, land surveying, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering professionals, I’m excited about what the future holds for the company, but more importantly, for the clients we serve.”
Louis Cortina assumes the position of Chief Financial Officer and Director of Operations for the company. Cortina is a licensed civil engineer in 39 states and has more than 35 years of total design experience. He has been with the company for 23 years.
Cortina has vast project experience background including government, military, industrial, education, commercial, signs and institutional projects. He also serves as an expert witness and conducts property condition surveys for various types of facilities and sites. Cortina has designed more than 12,000 sign structures nationally, ranging from traditional building signs to a 250-foot free standing pylon sign ad 300-foot spire.
His expertise in this area is nationally recognized and he currently serves as consultant to over 100 sign companies.
Cortina holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from the University of Tennessee. He and his wife Debbie are parents of two grown children and reside in Knoxville.
