ST. JOHN NEUMANN CATHOLIC SCHOOL 7th ANNUAL COMMUNITY AND CAREER FAIR
MONDAY, JANUARY 27th - 8:30 to 10:30 AM
Each year St. John Neumann Catholic School holds a Community and Career Fair for our preschool through eighth grade students. Our goal is to acquaint students with the working world of our community. We are looking for volunteers interested in sharing information with the students about the job, how it benefits the people in our community, and how our theme, "Do ordinary things with extraordinary love," is related to the occupation, company, or organization (i.e. reason for choosing your particular occupation; education or training required; internships or volunteer work; benefits to the community).
The Community and Career Fair will be held in the school gymnasium. Each participating group/business will be provided with a six-foot table. Participants are welcome to bring any materials, equipment, props, etc. related to their occupation to display. This will promote interest and attract students to the table. It may also prompt students to ask relevant questions and help them learn more about the many facets of your job.
Approximately 320 students will visit the Community & Career Fair between 8:30 and 10:30 AM. They will be free to move from table to table to learn about the many occupations represented at the fair so there is no need to have a prepared speech. Just share what you know and what you love about your occupation and let the students' questions drive your presentation. You are welcome to bring co-workers/a small team with you to help man your table. You may also bring pens, pencils, or other items advertising your company to hand out to the students.
