Event Description:
Whether you love jewelry or are interested in exploring a career in the industry, this 12-hour program presents a solid and technical foundation in pearls, diamonds, gems and hands-on gem identification. Study how these raw materials are formed, mined, identified, graded, and priced. Instructor Hillary Spector is a graduate gemologist, former GIA instructor and is presently the instructional specialist for Jewelry Television. The course and hands-on lab will be held in Jewelry Television’s state-of-the-art gem laboratory in the JTV Jewel School Institute, 140 Hayfield Road, Knoxville. Offered twice daily as a daytime or evening course to fit your busy schedule. Please note that the gem identification lab uses refractive index chemical; please consult your physician if you are pregnant, have allergies or may have other medical concerns.
