The team at First Utility District is pleased to announce we have been named a Top Workplace for the second consecutive year. In addition to being named a 2019 Top Workplace, First Utility District also won the work/life flexibility category.

"All the credit belongs to our employees. We could not have accomplished this without the concerted efforts of every single member of our organization. They do great work, both in what they accomplish professionally in our district and how they have shaped our culture over the years."- Bruce Giles, General Manager

For more than 65 years, First Utility District has provided the citizens of Knox County with safe, abundant supplies of water. Our organization expanded services to accommodate the population of the community and in many ways helped contribute to the successful growth of our area. Today, First Utility District is one of Tennessee’s largest drinking water and water reclamation utility districts, serving nearly 33,000 customers. Last year, we provided 4 billion gallons of water to area residents and businesses at one of the lowest rates in Tennessee. As West Knoxville continues to grow, FUD is keeping pace through careful planning, sound management, and exceptional employees. Our finances are among the strongest in Tennessee. We have a AAA rating and the majority of the time finance improvements with cash, which helps keep costs to our customers lower and rates stable.

The employees of First Utility District are blessed to be part of this community and look forward to serving West Knoxville for years to come.
