Windows 7 End of Life in January 2020–It’s time to shift to Windows 10

Windows 7 will no longer be supported starting January 14th 2020, which means any businesses still using Windows 7 will no longer be protecting their client's or their own information and are at risk of a data breach or other outside threats.

(Knoxville, TN—January 6th) –Windows 7—You’ve probably heard of it, you may even have it. An operating system (OS) that is now out of date and will no longer be supported or updated by Windows starting January 14th.

What does this mean for you?

Your computer will still function but you will not receive any further software updates, security updates or any technical support, from Microsoft. Because of this discontinued support, any PC still running Windows 7 will be at a greater risk for viruses and malware.

Going Forward

If you want to be safe and secure, you’ll need Windows 10. You’ll also need to make sure that your devices are not too old to run Windows 10, so it can function correctly.

Next Steps?

  1. Do your research – Find out what the latest PCs are. Today’s PCs are significantly more cost efficient than they were 5-10 years ago and their batteries last longer
  2. Back up your files (photos, videos, documents, etc.,) – It is always unfortunate when so much valuable information and memories are lost because of simple mistakes. Backing up your data will protect you and ease the pain of moving over to Windows 10. Back your data up to OneDrive or an external hard drive.
  3. Understand Windows 10 – If you think you’ll have a hard time understanding Windows 10, be sure to check out tips and tricks of using the new operating system, here.
