Name: 2020 Early Voting (Saturday): State & Federal General Election
Date: October 17, 2020
Time: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM EDT
Event Description:

Early voting begins in Knox County on October 14 for the Presidential and Federal/State Elections. Below are links and FAQ on early voting in Knox County:

Am I registered? If you have recently moved to/from a different TN county, your voter registration does NOT transfer automatically, and is considered a new application, which is required to be submitted 30 days before election day. If you did not update your address in your new county of residence by Oct. 3, you will not be able to vote. If you have changed your address OR name but live in the SAME county as before, you can still change your address during early voting. If you wait until election day on Nov. 3, you will be required to go to the polling site for your NEW address, and sign an affidavit, to be allowed to vote.

WHEN is early voting? Wednesday, Oct. 14th through Thursday, Oct. 29th.

WHAT TIME are polls open? Hours will be different for Oct. 26th-29th in early voting AND may be different overall for specific polling sites.
-Through the 24th, polls are open 10am-6pm on Monday through Friday & 11am-5pm on Saturday (except at City-County Building, Meridian Baptist & Karns Senior Center)
-CLOSED Sunday October 18 and Sunday October 25.
-From the 26th to the 29th, ALL LOCATIONS (except at City-County Building, Meridian Baptist & Karns Senior Center) are open 8am-8pm

WHERE can I early vote? You can early vote at ANY of the polling sites. You do NOT have to vote in your district assigned site during early voting. On Election Day, November 3, you will only be able to vote at your assigned polling place.

Can I STILL vote by Absentee Ballot? YES, if you qualify for one of the reasons for applying to vote by mail listed on the application AND if you complete and RETURN the ballot request form to the local election commission. Return your request form by fax (865.215.4239) or by email to absenteeballot@knoxcounty.org. If mailing the request form to the local election commission office (below), it must be RECEIVED by the Oct. 27 deadline, which is 7 days before the Nov. 3rd election day.

Return Absentee Ballot Request Forms by mail to be received by October 27th to:
