Event Description:

We’re excited to continue How It’s Made: Knoxville Edition, a quarterly behind-the-scenes tour showcasing the businesses and organizations that keep our community moving. Each tour offers a firsthand look at the people, processes and work happening behind the scenes—and gives our hosts an opportunity to share their story and what makes their organization unique.

In this edition:

Join us for the next installment of our How It’s Made: Knoxville Edition at Zoo Knoxville for an early-morning, behind-the-scenes experience designed to give guests a different look at the people and operations that help keep the zoo running.

The tour will offer opportunities to explore behind-the-scenes areas of the zoo and learn more about the work that happens beyond the public-facing experience. Guests will also have the opportunity to experience a tasting from Jim Majerowicz, Executive Chef, Zoo Knoxville, in the zoo’s Sugarlands Barn event space.

The exact tour itinerary is still being finalized, with the Zoo team working behind the scenes to create a unique experience for our group. We’ll let them keep a few details under wraps for now — you’ll have to join us to see what’s in store.

What to expect:

Be prepared to walk and wear comfortable shoes and clothing
Please arrive on time so the tour can begin promptly at 8 a.m. and the group can make the most of its time
Adults only — no children or minors are permitted. Guests who arrive with children or minors will not be able to participate in the tour.

This is your chance to see Zoo Knoxville from a whole new angle. You’ll leave with a new appreciation for what happens behind the scenes, and maybe a story or two to tell.
