Event Description:
Human trafficking is the second-fastest-growing crime in the United States, driven by its staggering profitability—estimated at $236 billion globally. In Tennessee, only about 1 percent of trafficking victims are ever identified. In 2024 alone, 1,152 cases were reported statewide, underscoring how many victims may still be unseen.
Any business that interacts with the public, enters residences, or employs staff could encounter a trafficking victim—often without realizing it. Recognizing the signs can make a life-saving difference.
The Chamber strongly encourages members to attend this important Lunch & Learn to:
- Learn how to recognize the signs of human trafficking and trust your instincts
- Understand how businesses can play a role in prevention and response
- Become certified as a Tennessee Business Against Trafficking (TBAT) business at no cost
How to Become TBAT Certified:
- Register for this Lunch & Learn (members attend at no cost when logged into the member portal)
- Before February 5, register with TBAT and indicate “FWKCC” or “Farragut West Knox Chamber” as how you heard about the program
- Attend the Feb. 5 Lunch & Learn; attendance will be confirmed by the Chamber
