Name: Member Hosted Event: Creative Kids Fest
Date: April 11, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
This year, we’re celebrating young children with a day of art for the entire family. The Creative Kids Fest is a hands-on celebration of imagination, art, and music to inspire young minds! Children will have the opportunity to express themselves and try new art skills.

Featured art activities in the gym will include a variety of collaborative and make-and-take projects. Collaborative projects will include a butterfly mural, popsicle stick collage, a cityscape mural, a coral reef sponge painting, and a picture frame collage. Make-and-take projects include hand shadow dinosaur art, salt-dough birds, skewer sculptures, paper flower vases, stick people puppets, and Washi tape bracelets. The gym will also feature a station where children can create their own music.

Activities in the Kids Go Green! Environmental Center and Gardens will include a collaborative tape resist mural and gardening projects. A museum-wide art scavenger hunt will encourage families to explore the museum’s exhibits. The Knoxville Area Model Railroaders’ clubhouse will be open, and members of the Oak Ridge Amateur Radio Club and the Knoxville Philatelic Society will be on hand with special activities. A low sensory area will be provided by Xander’s Place.

This event is held in celebration of the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s Week of the Young Child and is supported by the Tennessee Arts Commission. We hope to see you there!
