Developed by experienced bodywork practitioner Robert “Bobby” Fox to support his wife living with Multiple Sclerosis, the specialized protocol offers a neurologically informed approach to stress reduction, relaxation, and nervous system support.

KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE — Fox Muscle & Joint is proud to introduce its NeuroReset massage protocol, a specialized approach to therapeutic bodywork developed to support individuals experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, nervous system overload, and neurological challenges.

While many massage techniques begin in a classroom or weekend certification course, the inspiration behind FMJ's Neuro Reset Massage Protocol was deeply personal.

For Robert “Bobby” Fox, an experienced sports and clinical bodywork practitioner with decades of experience working with athletes and individuals facing complex physical challenges, the motivation was his wife, Fiona, who lives with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

“It's one thing to attend a weekend class and learn a technique. It's another thing entirely to develop a protocol because the person you love is living with a neurological condition, and you want to find ways to help,” explains Fox.

Drawing upon his extensive background in anatomy, kinesiology, neuromuscular therapy, and clinical bodywork, Fox developed NeuroReset as a targeted approach intended to encourage nervous system relaxation and improve the overall therapeutic experience for individuals whose nervous systems are under significant stress.

More Than Relaxation Massage

Although relaxation is an important component of the treatment, FMJ's NeuroReset Massage Protocol was not developed as a conventional spa service.

The protocol reflects an understanding of the relationship between the nervous system, muscular tension, sensory input, and the body's physiological response to stress.

Its primary purpose is to provide a calming, supportive bodywork experience that may be particularly valuable for people experiencing:

  • Chronic stress and heightened nervous system arousal

  • Anxiety and difficulty achieving physical relaxation

  • Persistent muscular tension associated with stress

  • Neurological conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's disease

  • Physical and emotional exhaustion associated with prolonged nervous system demands

NeuroReset is intended as a complementary wellness service, not a treatment or cure for neurological disease. Its effects on specific neurological conditions have not been established through clinical trials of the FMJ protocol.

When Clinical Experience Becomes Personal

For Fox, developing the protocol represented a unique intersection of professional expertise and personal commitment.

His wife Fiona, a functional wellness practitioner and founder of Saucy Foxy, understands both the professional and personal realities of living with chronic neurological challenges.

“When you live with MS, you become incredibly aware of just how much your nervous system influences your everyday life,” Fiona explains. “Stress, fatigue, sensory overload — they're not simply inconveniences. They can affect how you function. Having a husband who understands the science of the body and is determined to use that knowledge to support you is something pretty extraordinary.”

What began as an effort to provide thoughtful, individualized support for one person has evolved into a protocol that FMJ hopes will benefit a broader range of clients seeking an alternative to traditional relaxation-focused massage.

A Different Conversation About Massage Therapy

The introduction of NeuroReset also reflects FMJ's broader commitment to advancing the understanding of bodywork as a supportive component of comprehensive wellness care.

Rather than positioning massage solely as an occasional luxury, FMJ emphasizes the potential role of skilled therapeutic touch in promoting relaxation, comfort, and overall well-being.

The protocol is designed to complement, rather than replace, conventional healthcare, including ongoing treatment for neurological and mental health conditions.

“Sometimes innovation doesn't start with trying to create something to sell,” says Fox. “Sometimes it starts because someone you love needs support, and you refuse to stop learning how to provide it.”
