Knoxville, TN — Fox Muscle & Joint (FMJ) is proud to announce its official certification as a member of Tennessee Businesses Against Trafficking (TBAT), a statewide initiative aimed at combatting human trafficking through community awareness, education, and advocacy.
The certification was made possible through the Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce, which helped coordinate the opportunity for FMJ and other local businesses to participate. Through TBAT, free training is available to any Tennessee business, offering a critical chance to learn how to recognize, respond to, and prevent human trafficking.
In a field where misunderstanding around touch and physical vulnerability can still persist, FMJ recognizes the urgency of raising the standard for what ethical care looks like. “At FMJ, we’ve always aimed to set the highest bar for professionalism—not just in our patient care, but also in our workplace culture,” said Robert Fox, Founder of Fox Muscle & Joint. “This certification is a formal acknowledgment of something that has been part of our DNA from the beginning: being a safe, ethical space where healing is the only focus.”
FMJ is not only committed to delivering medically-based therapeutic massage, but also to being a safe space for survivors of domestic violence, trauma, and abuse. As a licensed clinic under the Tennessee Department of Health, FMJ believes strongly in raising awareness around the darker realities hidden in plain sight within the wellness and bodywork industries.
“Unfortunately, human trafficking and sexual exploitation have deeply affected our industry’s reputation,” said Clinic Manager Rana Konkar. “By joining TBAT, we stand publicly and proudly against those crimes—and with the people they hurt.”
