Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Project Manager to join our clients dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to gain hands-on experience in managing complex projects within the water/wastewater treatment and civil construction sectors. The Junior Project Manager will support the Project Management team in overseeing the day-to-day operations of projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in the construction and infrastructure industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Coordination & Support: Assist in coordinating various aspects of construction projects including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and procurement. Ensure that all project activities align with the project's timeline and objectives.
  • Project Communication: Facilitate communication between internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure all parties are updated on project status and any potential issues.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Prepare and update regular project status reports for senior management and clients.
  • Quality Control: Assist in ensuring that all work complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications. Conduct site visits to monitor work progress and identify any potential risks to project quality.
  • Safety Compliance: Support the implementation and enforcement of site safety protocols. Participate in safety meetings and ensure that all contractors and team members adhere to safety regulations.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and help develop strategies to mitigate them. Escalate issues as necessary to senior management for resolution.
  • Budget Tracking: Assist with tracking project expenses and ensure that costs are aligned with the project budget. Identify any cost discrepancies and report them to senior management.
  • Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Assist in managing relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Ensure that all materials and services are delivered on time and meet project specifications.
  • Scheduling: Assist in the development and maintenance of detailed project schedules. Ensure that all activities are completed on time and report any delays to the senior project manager.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in construction project management, particularly in water/wastewater treatment, pump stations, or civil construction projects. Experience working in the water and wastewater industry is a strong advantage.

  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project) and PDF proficiency within BlueBeam.
  • Basic understanding of civil construction processes, water/wastewater systems, and treatment plants.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Pay rate: 80,000-90,000 DOE
